For Halloween, Francesca decided to go as Uncle Fester (the bald guy on The Addams Family). On a dare, she shaved off all her hair. She had none left. None, Zip, Zilch. You could use her head for a globe. It was a great costume, but she wore a hat for weeks.
Francesca’s hair grows 12 mm per month.
It was a bad hair year for Francesca and her family. Nuncio’s haircute actually took place on New Year’s Eve. His hair grows faster than Francesca’s: 16 mm per month.
Francesca’s little brothr Nuncio is in first grade and is five years old. Over the winter break, he decided to give himself a haircute. It was a disaster. They hoped it would grow out in time, but before he went back to school on January 2, they had to cut his hair off, leaving only 6 mm.
How long will his hair be when it’s the same length as Francesca. PROCESS PLEASE! tell me how you got the answer. Thanks!!! 
Francesca’s hair = 12 mm/month, cut Halloween (October) start at 0 mm
Nuncio’s = 16 mm/month, cut at New year’ eve (January) start at 6 mm
When Nuncio’s hair 6 mm, time has passed 3 month from Halloween at October. So Francesca hair has grown. So in January Francesca hair is, Fh = 3 x 12 = 36 mm
How long will his hair be when it’s the same length as Francesca, means the same month.
Francesca’s hair = Nuncio’s hair (start at January to N month)
36 mm + 12mm/month x N month = 6 mm + 16 mm/month x N month
<=> 4N = 30
<=> N = 7.5 month
So approximately in 16 August both of their hair have the same length.
