Addams Family Art

Most romantic fictional couple?

I think it’s either Romeo and Juliet, or Morticia and Gomez Addams.

On the one hand, young forbidden lovers die for the sins of their family. “Juliet is like the sun!” “O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?”

On the other hand, “Cara mia..” “That’s French!!” They’d do anything for/to eachother, where passion violence and love are all synonyms.

*And if you say suggest characters from Twilight, I’m going to stick a fork in my eye.
2nd ? : You don’t think Juliet fell in love as a way to escape her father’s arranged marriage to Paris?

Also my English teacher said that “Rosaline” might’ve been code for Mercutio, but that’s a whole ‘nother story…

I honestly don’t like Romeo. He’s such a jerk! I mean, first of all, he is so hung up about Roseline, who just doesn’t want to have kids? I mean, what? That’s HER decision, not some sicko who has a crush on her. And second of all, he probably only fell in love with Juliet because he was on rebound and he just wanted a way out of his grief for Roseline. And I feel sorry for Juliet who probably actually was in love with Romeo, instead of on rebound from a previous relationship. I’d go with Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase from The Lightning thief, it’s the same concept, Annabeth’s mom and Percy’s dad hate each other and it has a lot of true facts about Greek Mythology, and its fantacy, too which I love.

Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events

If you spliced Charles Addams, Dr. Seuss, Charles Dickens, Edward Gorey, and Roald Dahl into a Tim Burtonesque landscape, you’d surely come up with something like Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. Many critics (in mostly mixed reviews) wondered why Burton didn’t direct this comically morbid adaptation of the first three books in the popular series by Daniel Handler (a.k.a. “Lemo…

Director Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) brings his distinctly cartoonish sensibility to this feature film version of the old Charles Addams comic strip. But it’s Christina Ricci who arguably steals the show as their stone-faced daughter, Wednesday. A…
