Addams Family Characters Lurch

What science fiction movie is this?

In this TV-ish feel, it was from either the late 70s or early 80s I think. There were at least two films with reoccurring characters. They only thing I can remember: dull colored 70’s ish “overalls” and there was a big Lurch-like (Lurch from the Addams Family) character who had white hair I think to his shoulders. I think it took place on another planet, or they took a ship to another planet. Time travel may have had something to do with it. Thank you!
Darn, I was so hoping Phantasm was it. Thank you so much for trying. The uniforms looked more like the TV show Lost in Space, and it had the feeling of those old 70s tv shows– Wild Wild West, Land of the Giants, etc
The big white haired guy might have had it in braids on the side, the rest loose. Could have worn a headband?
Thanks… that wasn’t it either. I’m beginning to think it may have been a scifi series tv show back in the 70s?

The character that you describe sounds like the role Angus Scrimm played as The Tall Man in the cult movie series Phantasm. It would have been one of the later movies, I don’t remember which one, but perhaps this will help. There is a scene where The Tall Man is either sitting or standing on the front porch of a prairie farmhouse, dressed as you mentioned, hair and all. He is watching as another recurring character “Mike” and a girl come through a portal. Don’t remember if it’s through dimensions, space, whatever, but the “portal traveling” was a central theme throughout the series…hopes this helps you
