Should I read the screenplay first, or watch the movie first?
I’m taking a Screenwriting class, and we’re supposed to read 1 script a week. I read the Addams Family script, and was wanting to see the movie, so I did.
Which do you think is better to read or watch first? The screenplay (the screenwriter’s complete vision) or the movie (some scenes probably taken out)? or no movie at all?
The screenplay isn’t necessarily the screenwriter’s complete vision, as most scripts available online (or even published in books) have been touched by others before you see it.
